Project 01 • Pace Downtown
The PACE Group, Inc. (People Achieving Community Enhancement) of Thomasville is a citizen-led organization whose guiding mission is the improvement of Thomasville. PACE works closely with the city to coordinate activities and improvements in the downtown. Over the years, the organization has developed the Thomasville Farmers Market, PACE Park Amphitheater, Streetscape improvements, Waste Receptacle replacement, NewBridge Courtyard, Murals and mural upgrades, and Cates Alley, among other projects.
PACE wanted to establish a DBA with the name Pace Downtown. With the new name, they needed to establish a new identity. As an intern with Pax Studio during my Spring 2020 semester, I collaborated with my boss Paxton Taylor to give the organization the facelift it needed with the name change.
Elements of the rebrand pay direct homage to the Thomasville improvement and beautification efforts that Pace Downtown spearheaded over the years. The new design assets are used on social media platforms, public installations, and apparel.
Project 02 • Taylor'd Threads
Established by Pax Studio, Taylor'd Threads is a small business that strives to create unique and creative pieces that tell a story from the heart, starting with the hometown of Thomasville and home state of North Carolina. As an intern with Pax Studio, I helped add new pieces to the line.
In April as Covid-19 restrictions began to hurt the local economy, Taylor'd Threads partnered with Thomasville Tourism Commission to design a t-shirt with 100% of the profits going to the local business of the buyer's choosing. Donning #ThomasvilleTough, we raised $1,190 for a total of 42 local businesses. With the popularity of this t-shirt, Taylor'd Threads eventually made it part of their permanent line.
Project 03 • Card Design
I designed square "thank you" cards with vellum envelopes to send to clients after a finished project. All typography on the front is beautiful gold foil.
